Matches for the UCF team will include this fall's Florida Intercollegiate Golf Tournament. Fifteen matches planned for spring include the Sunshine State Conference Championship. News from Rec During the first full week of classes, a physical fitness program will begin for faculty, staff and students, and will resume for participants from the previous quarter. The class will meet on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between the hours of 12 and 1 p.m. General body conditioning will be taught at all fitness levels with emphasis on minimizing heart risk through cardiovascular fitness and endurance and weight loss, if needed. The activities involved, jogging, calisthenics, weightlifting and flexibility exercises, are geared to your fitness and ability level. Faculty and staff members are charged $5.00 per quarter to help defray the cost of the fitness staff. Payment must be made at the cashier's window in the Administration Building and the receipt brought to the Recreational Services' Office or to the fitness instructor. Students are encouraged to participate and will not be charged because they pay the university activity fee, which funds the program. It is recommended that you have a physical exam from your own doctor before starting this program. Language lineup adds muscle at UCF Classes in Latin, Spanish and modern French literature will be offered this fall at the University for interested members of the community. The elementary Spanish course will be offered Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with the emphasis on providing a solid foundation in the language and an overall view of Spanish civilization and culture. Latin will be offered four mornings a week in response to a large number of requests from students. It is felt the course will greatly benefit those already studying modern languages, and aid in perfecting languages they are already familiar with, including English. The 20th Century French Literature (in English) course is designed to benefit students in the humanities as well as anyone with an interest in literature and the arts. The course will provide an understanding of some of the artistic, literary and philosophical movements that came out of Europe, and from France in particular. Classes will meet four times a week at noon. For more information on these language courses, contact the Dept. of Foreign Languages (x2641). Special forms are available for those who wish to enroll but who are not seeking degrees.
