The 1 983 gathering will mark the first time in six years the conference has been held outside the Midwest, a move which reflects recognition of the high- tech environment in Central Florida and the University of Central Florida's commitment to computer science in its academic programs. UCF has the only doctorate in computer science in the state, one of a handful in the Southeast. Terry Frederick (chairman. Computer Science) is general chairman of this year's conference. The agenda contains speakers, panels and technical sessions, exhibits by computer manufacturers and trade publishers, and an employment register. To participate, interested persons must register with a fee payment that ranges from $10 for students to $75 for ACM non-members. There is also a special one day fee. For further information, call Computer Science (x2341).
