Thus reads the psalm three hundred decades old: ( "Within Within ) God's temple strength ( and amI ) beauty dwell." A ( living liYing ) psalm outspread our eyes behold; '""' The truth the singer sang, .its numbers tell; -,. Creation's psalm, whose countless voices swell With praise in vain essayed by human tongue: ( Whose \\Those Those ) worship doth great Nature's temple fill, And echo ( farthest fartbest ) aisles of space among, '.. And, grand and ceaseless, ( hath bath ) through all the ages rung. ( We l\Te l Te ) ( live liye ) in sanctuary courts. The palm , ( Vith With ) sculptured trunk, the enduring oak, ( the 'tbe -the ) pine"' , ( With 'Vith ) ( wind-harp wind harp wind-barp barp ) voicing low its solemn psalm, " , And cypress rise as pillars ( o'er o'el' ) the ( shrine. sbrine. ) , The skies, its dome, with jewelled splendors ( shine. sh'ine. ) Its lavers are a thousand lakes in bowls Of gold and emerald. The jessamine, ( Magnolia lagn0lia ), orange, censers from which rolls - I } The ( fragrant fragra.n ) breath of praise ( ftom from ) Nature's voiceless souls. , ;' Here ( strength rength ) and grace in ( wondrous lwndrous ) union met-. Strength of the forest ( open-aisled open aisled ) and vast; ( ' . ) Beauty of branch and leaf and floweret, '( ; Beauty of ( lakes lakt's ) with light ( waves "m.ves ) running fast, (;- Beauty in fruits that charm ( both hath ) sight .and taste, A Beauty in skies with glory spangled o'er; . , it Strength in the breeze that comes from ocean's waste, . . .
